Root Canal Treatment

No. Root canal treatment is performed under local anaesthesia and is virtually painless. Most patients are surprised at how comfortable the procedure is. Dr. Swati Shivane is an MDS Endodontics specialist — root canal is her area of highest expertise. Post-treatment, mild soreness for 1–2 days is normal and easily managed with prescribed medication.
Depending on the condition of the tooth, root canal treatment can often be completed in a single sitting. Complex or infected cases may require 2 sittings. A dental crown is strongly recommended after the root canal to protect the treated tooth — this is a separate appointment. Read more on our Root Canal Treatment page.
Saving your natural tooth with a root canal is almost always the better long-term choice. Extraction creates a gap that — unless replaced with an implant or bridge — causes neighbouring teeth to shift and leads to bone loss. Dr. Swati Shivane will assess your tooth and advise which option is clinically appropriate. See our Root Canal vs Extraction guide for a full comparison.
Common signs include: severe toothache, prolonged sensitivity to hot or cold, pain when biting, tooth discolouration, swelling of the gum, or a pimple-like bump on the gum near the tooth. However, some infected teeth cause no pain at all — which is why regular check-ups matter. Read our detailed guide: 7 Signs You May Need a Root Canal.

Dental Implants

Yes. Swaram Dental Clinic offers complete dental implant treatment — from initial assessment and 3D CBCT X-ray to surgical placement by our experienced MDS-qualified oral surgeon, to crown placement. Dr. Swati Shivane oversees the full treatment plan and all stages of patient care. Learn more on our Dental Implants page.
Implant costs vary based on the brand, number of missing teeth, and whether bone grafting is required. We offer transparent pricing with no hidden charges. Please call us or book a consultation for a personalised cost estimate following a clinical and radiographic assessment. See our dental treatment cost guide for a general overview.
Implants are the gold-standard: they preserve jawbone, are permanent, and don't require grinding down adjacent teeth. A bridge is faster and less expensive but involves preparing the neighbouring teeth and does not prevent bone loss under the gap. The right choice depends on your bone health, budget, and how many teeth are missing. Read our full Implant vs Bridge comparison.

Cosmetic & Smile Treatments

Yes. Professional in-clinic teeth whitening is performed directly by Dr. Swati Shivane. It delivers significantly better, longer-lasting results than home kits. The number of sessions depends on the degree of discolouration and your goals. See our Teeth Whitening page or read our whitening comparison guide.
Yes. Dr. Swati Shivane handles all clear aligner consultations, digital scanning, and treatment monitoring directly. Aligners are removable, virtually invisible, and a comfortable alternative to traditional braces — ideal for adults and teenagers who want to straighten their teeth without metal brackets. Learn more on our Clear Aligners page.
Smile designing is a customised cosmetic treatment plan that can include teeth whitening, veneers, bonding, gum contouring, crowns, and/or aligners — combined to create your ideal smile. Dr. Swati Shivane performs all smile designing work directly. A consultation involves a smile analysis, digital preview, and step-by-step plan tailored to your facial features and goals. See our Smile Designing page.

Children's Dentistry

Yes. We specialise in creating a comfortable, fear-free environment for children. We offer milk tooth treatments, dental sealants, fluoride applications, cavity fillings, and age-appropriate preventive care. We recommend a child's first dental visit by age 1 or when the first tooth appears. Read our full Parent's Guide to the First Dental Visit.
We recommend the first dental visit by age 1 or within 6 months of the first tooth erupting — whichever comes first. Early visits help establish a positive relationship with the dentist and catch any developmental concerns early. Regular 6-monthly check-ups are recommended from there on. See our Kids Dentistry page for more.

Dental Emergencies

Call us immediately on +91 84848 51686. We prioritise dental emergencies — severe toothache, knocked-out teeth, dental abscess, broken teeth, and lost crowns. For a knocked-out tooth: keep it moist (in milk or your saliva), don't scrub the root, and reach us within an hour for the best chance of saving it. Read our full Dental Emergency Guide.
Yes. Wisdom tooth removal — including surgical removal of impacted wisdom teeth — is performed by our experienced MDS-qualified oral surgery specialist team. Dr. Swati Shivane handles the consultation, digital X-ray and OPG assessment, treatment planning, and post-operative care. Learn more on our Wisdom Tooth Removal page.

Preventive Care

We recommend a professional check-up and dental cleaning every 6 months. Regular visits detect problems early — before they become painful or costly — and keep your teeth and gums healthy long term. Some patients with gum disease or a higher decay risk may benefit from more frequent visits. Read our Why Regular Check-Ups Matter guide.
Yes, with appropriate precautions. Routine check-ups, cleaning, and emergency treatment are considered safe during pregnancy. The second trimester (months 4–6) is generally the best time for elective dental work. Untreated gum disease during pregnancy has been linked to preterm birth, so it is important not to neglect dental care. Read our full Dental Care During Pregnancy guide.
